See, Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams?! There is a wonderful way to celebrate your wife and other women in music and music videos... and John Legend has it figured out. Today (July 10), the "All of Me" crooner released the official visual for his new Love in the Future single "You & I (Nobody in the World), and it features women of all shapes, sizes, ages and situations making it through life.
The clip for "You & I (Nobody in the World)" begins and ends with Legend's wife Chrissy Teigen getting ready for some sort of event in a walk-in closet. The music video then cuts to a little girl brushing her teeth in front of a mirror, a boxer, a plus-sized beauty, an African-American woman adjusting her necklace, a girl getting braces, a teen in front of a locker and more.
There are also a few celebrity appearances, from Teigen, Orange Is The New Black actress Laverne Cox and comedienne Tig Notaro.
Each girl clearly has an interesting backstory, be it a medical condition, life condition or just a properly strong goal and personality.
"You & I" depicts roughly two dozen women and girls, all showcasing a range of emotions as they stare directly into the camera. Some cry, some smile, some look pensive or hopeful or scared... but it's clear that they are all human. In the end, the crying women are comforted by love, be it from themselves or another person and the result is really, truly touching.
This is how to show some love.
