Many of the big spring and early summer North American festivals have announced their lineups and many will debate who has the best headliners or the strongest undercard, there is a whole other class of small festivals that try and provide a complete experience around the music. Bonanza Music & Arts Camping Festival is one of these smaller festivals that looks to make its surrounding environment as important as the music, though the lineup is quite solid with Nas, Nick Murphy, Ms. Lauryn Hill and Odesza headlining.
Other names on the surprisingly diverse lineup include Cut Copy, The Airborne Toxic Event, Mutemath, Duke Dumont, D.R.A.M., Method Man & Redman, Bob Moses, Jai Wolf and Waka Flocka Flame.
Electronic music does have a strong presence on the lineup with artists such as Stephen, The Knocks, Big Wild, Tokimonsta and Cherub also on the undercard.
There are some interesting hip-hop & r&b acts on the bill ranging from legends like Nas, Method Mad & Redman & Ms. Lauryn Hill to newer names such as D.R.A.M. and Waka Flocka Flame. Then there will be a smattering of rock n roll with Mutemath, Eden and Airborne Toxic Event.
Entering its second year, this year's billing is a big upgrade over last year. Among those who performed in 2016 include Big Gigantic, Cold War Kids, Jr. Jr, Savoy, Ryan Hemsworth, Joywave, Louis The Child, Emancipator and Milo Greene.
Bonanza Campout will take place at Utah's scenic River's Edge Resort in Heber City, 45 minutes from Salt Lake City, on June 23-25. In addition to the music, there will be art installations, yoga, hiking and more.
Three-day GA passes are on sale now starting at just $150. Various options for camping and on-site cabin options are also available. They can be purchased on the festival's website.
