Lady Gaga has revealed her chronic hip pain in a new interview with Arthritis Magazine. The "Joanne" singer has discussed her hip issues in the past when she had to cancel live dates on the Born This Way Tour in 2013 to have surgery.
While the magazine cover is not out online yet, the tagline reads “Hip pain can’t stop me,” and will deal with her “career-threatening injury and why she’ll never ignore joint pain again.”
In 2013, Gaga gave a revealing interview with Woman’s Wear Daily about her hip issues, saying, “My injury was actually a lot worse than just a labral tear. I had broken my hip. Nobody knew, and I haven’t even told the fans yet.”
She further said, “But when we got all the MRIs finished before I went to surgery there were giant craters, a hole in my hip the size of a quarter, and the cartilage was just hanging out the other side of my hip. I had a tear on the inside of my joint and a huge breakage. The surgeon told me if I had done another show I might have needed a full hip replacement.”
Gaga now keeps her fans updated on Instagram and posted a photo of herself being treated by doctors this past November. Fans also posted about the upcoming cover story in Arthritis Magazine.
