'The Walking Dead' Season 8: Rick Leads All-Out War to Finally Take Down Negan & Saviors

The official synopsis for “The Walking Dead” Season 8, which premieres on October 22, has just been released. It primarily emphasizes the “All-Out War” of the non-zombies of Alexandria, the Hilltop and the Kingdom against Negan and the Saviors.

In Season 6 of “The Walking Dead,” Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the other survivors encountered a new enemy called the Saviors. The season finale introduced the leader of the Saviors to the viewers, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

The following season’s premiere featured the now infamous brutal killing of Glenn and Abraham in the hands of Negan. It was also the season when Rick was put in the unlikely position of being at Negan’s mercy according to ScreenRant.

Being powerless under Negan’s rule, Rick advised the others to just play along in the meantime. But, seeing that Negan could not be reasoned with, Rick began rallying the other communities affected by the Saviors. With the support of both the Hilltop and Kingdom communities, they were able to muster enough power to stand up against the Saviors.

The other characters were working for the Saviors against their will. In the finale of Season 7 of “The Walking Dead,” Rick and the others finally found the courage to stand up against Negan.

“The Walking Dead” Season 8 will be diving deep into the “All-Out War” story from the original comic books of Robert Kirkman. Battle lines will be drawn with Rick and the unified communities against the bigger, better-equipped and ruthless Saviors. Rick and the others are fighting for the promise of a brighter future reports TV Guide.

In the previous “The Walking Dead” seasons, they have been fighting for their survival. It reached a point that it’s not enough anymore. They have to fight for their freedom in order to survive and rebuild. With the determination of their respective leaders – Rick for the Alexandrian forces, Maggie leading the Hilltop and King Ezekiel for the Kingdom – Negan and the Saviors’ rule may finally be over.
