Laurel (Karla Souza) will take action to hold her father, Jorge (Esai Morales), responsible for Wes’ (Alfred Enoch) death in episode 2 of “How to Get Away With Murder” Season 4. EP Pete Nowalk teased that in the episode titled “I’m Not Her,” Laurel will either prove her father killed Wes or she will attempt to somehow get revenge.
No matter what Laurel decides to do, Nowalk revealed that Laurel will ultimately end up to the night at the hospital from last week’s “How to Get Away With Murder” season premiere. She woke up freaking out because her baby was missing. Nowalk also revealed that Laurel will also form a bond with an unlikely character, who she will rely on for most of Season 4 reports Variety.
In last week’s episode, Laurel lied to Jorge about getting an abortion after learning that she was pregnant. Souza explained that it was her character’s way of finding out if her father knew about her baby with Wes according to TV Line. “She was kind of fishing to see if he knew that, which it looked like he didn't, which would mean he didn't know he just killed the father of the baby," the actress revealed.
Souza further explained that the reason for Laurel staying in her late boyfriend’s old apartment was not for her to feel closing to him. Neither was it because she needed to find refuge there. It was actually Laurel’s way of protecting Wes from whatever more harm her father can cause.
Laurel wanted to make sure that no one will come to the apartment to plant something according to Souza. Laurel knows that Jorge is capable of making everyone think that Wes had an awful past or at least did something awful. The new season of “How to Get Away With Murder” airs Thursday nights on ABC.
