Chloe Kohanski Bags 'The Voice' Season 13 Grand Prize

Chloe Kohanski is this year's winner in The Voice Season 13. The Nashville-native won her way to the grand prize with her weekly performances of retro rock music.

NBC voted the 23-year-old the winner on Tuesday's finale of The Voice Season 13. Kohanski took home the grand prize of $100,000 and a record deal with Universal Records Group. Her win cements Blake Shelton's lucky streak on the show. This is the country crooner's sixth win on The Voice. Kohanski was previously under team Miley Cyrus.

Kohanski has been a big contender to win in The Voice Season 13 because of her take on classic '80s and '90s rock music. She earned the number one spot on the iTunes chart for her rendition of Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and "I Want to Know What Love Is" from Foreigner. She stood out among the other contestants for her raspy voice and her penchant for retro rock music, while others veered toward R&B and country.

Her coach also motivated her to win with his encouraging words. Prior to the announcement, Blake told her, "who you are is enough." Likewise, ahead of The Voice Season 13 finals, Kohanski already hinted at her victory.

"It's crazy, but I feel like I could win. I don't feel like there has ever really been anyone like me, and I'm starting to realize that. Not in a cocky way, but in a very humbling way," Kohanski told reporters in November.

Meanwhile, the runner-ups include Addison Agen, Brooke Simpson, and Red Marlow. Agen, under team Adam, performed a duet with Nora Jones on her song "Don't Know Why," with the artist on the piano.

In The Voice Season 13 finals, the contestants performed with an icon representing their genre. Kohanski sang "White Wedding" with new wave legend Billy Idol. Adam Cunningham and Keisha Renne teamed up with pop star Bebe Rexha for a rendition of her recent hit "Meant to Be."

The star-studded finale also saw the performances of famous artists including Vince Gill, Jessie J, Sia, and The Voice 2016 winner Chris Blue. Charlie Puth teamed up with show judge Adam Levine for his new single "How Long" with the latter on guitar. Kelly Clarkson, who is set to become a judge on the show in 2018, also performed her song "Medicine."

Suffice to say that none of the contestants went home without glory. Kohanski may have been the winner in The Voice Season 13, but the other finalists also took home the pleasure of singing with famous artists.
