Since Christian singer/songwriter Benji Cowart and his wife and partner Jenna released the video for "The Dad's Side of the Story" in response to Magic!'s "Rude" on July 10th, they've garnered nearly 6 million views. Their friend, filmmaker Bobby Burns, has now put together a "Cinematic" version of the video with Liam Neeson as the dad and Jon Heder and Jeff Bridges as different versions of the guy you don't want your daughter marrying.

Benji, who is a real life dad to three kids, two boys and an 11-year-old daughter, told USA Today that while he liked the original song, the line, "Why you gotta be so rude? I'm gonna marry her anyway" demanded a response. He tried to put into the song what would go through his head, as a dad, if someone told him that, but he hopes it won't play out like the video. He shared, "If I do my job as a dad, and kinda set a high bar for how a man should treat her, I hope we won't have that scenario."

Benji and Jenna are both songwriters for Word Music Publishing with over 90 songs listed on their ASCAP roster and a 2012 album, Letters to the Church at Buffalo. Several of their songs, including "Redeemed" and "The Only Name (Yours Will Be)" have been recorded by Big Daddy Weave so they're not strangers to hits. ("Redeemed" was K-LOVE's Song of the Year in 2013 and currently has 4,763,313 views on YouTube and "The Only Name (Yours Will Be)" has made it to #1 on the charts). However, they were not prepared for a viral smash. Jenna said, "I figured it would get some hits, just because of the popularity of that song, but not this." Benji added, "I've had several guys say, 'this is my new dad anthem' which ... I hope no dad is out there plotting anybody's demise."
