President Donald Trump's former director of communications Omarosa Manigault will be joining Celebrity Big Brother. The CBS reality TV competition will premiere on Feb. 7.
Manigault resigned from her job in the White House in December. At that time, speculations circulated that Manigault was removed from the office grounds by force.
She clarified that there was no truth to such claims and said that she resigned in protest after her meeting with Chief of Staff John Kelly.
"I resigned, and I didn't do that in the residence as is being reported," said Manigault.
In the same interview, Manigault was also asked to comment on what she did not like while working in the White House. She said that she has seen things that made her feel uncomfortable, so she decided to resign.
Omarosa Manigault Resigns From Her Post
Following her resignation, the U.S. Secret Service clarified that Manigault was never physically removed from the White House. Her access pass was simply deactivated, which is common practice among employees who have resigned or retired.
Manigault said that she has the most access inside the White House, and some people were not happy with it. She clarified that she only goes inside the Oval Office when she is called by the president.
President Trump appeared to be in good spirits after Manigault's exit, which proved that they were on good terms. He even gave his former employee a shout out and thanked her publicly on social media.
Who Will Compete Against Omarosa Manigault?
Manigault will be joined by nine other house guests inside the Big Brother house. American Pie star Shannon Elizabeth, the Cosby Show alum Keshia Knight Pulliam, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville will all be competing against each other in the first season of Celebrity Big Brother. Other house guests include Marissa Jaret Winokur, James Maslow, Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez, Ross Matthews, Chuck Liddell, and Mark McGrath.
Celebrity Big Brother is not the first reality TV show Manigault will appear in. She previously starred in The Apprentice with President Trump and she returned to Celebrity Apprentice years later. After meeting President Trump in The Apprentice, Manigault went on to work for the president.
Celebrity Big Brother will air on CBS for three weeks. As of late, the price of the winner has not yet been confirmed. The regular seasons of Big Brother have rewarded its winners with $500,000 each.
