GOT7 Announces World Tour, Becomes First K-Pop Group To Headline Barclays Center

Mark, JB, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam, and Yugyeom of GOT7 are officially back. The Korean group has announced the dates for their upcoming world tour.

Through its official social media page, the 7-member boy band announced its 17-stop world tour that will begin on May 4 in their home country, South Korea. The boys will then perform in several major cities across the world including Bangkok, Moscow, Berlin, Paris, Toronto, and New York.

Billboard revealed that GOT7 will be the first ever Korean group to perform at the Barclays Center located in Brooklyn. The venue can host up to 19,000 fans.

This year, artists such as Depeche Mode and Bruno Mars will perform at the center.

The Anticipated Comeback

Fans have been anticipating the return of GOT7 since last year. It has been four months since the band' most recent album 7 for 7 was released and spawned hits such as "You Are" and "Teenager." The 7-track record was a massive success, landing on the number 2 spot of Billboard's albums chart.

The boy band first teased its next comeback during a livestream on Valentine's Day in partnership with Naver V, a South Korean broadcast app that connects fans with their idols. At the time, it was Jinyoung who confirmed that the group will go back to work next month.

"Our preparations for our March comeback are now complete, so we're ready to bring you good music and to show you good performances once again," JB added.

Meanwhile, BamBam hinted that Yugyeom has been involved in the creation of new songs for an upcoming album. Neither artists did not want to reveal details but said that they have been working really hard and have been practicing for their upcoming performances.

As for their world tour, the group is really looking forward to seeing as many of their fans as possible to thank them for helping them achieve so much acclaim last year.

"We'll be visiting a lot of places through our world tour. There may also be places that we're unable to visit, but please don't be too sad," said Yugyeom. "Please don't forget that no matter where you are, we are always thinking of you."
