Has Taylor Swift abandoned her squad for her boyfriend Joe Alwyn? A source reveals that she is spending all her free time with the actor.
The 28-year-old from Nashville has built a reputation of tinsel town's best friend. She has been seen hanging out with models and fellow pop stars, counting the likes of Ed Sheeran, Haim, Selena Gomez, Martha Hunt as her celebrity pals.
However, it has been quite some time since she was seen in public hanging out with her all-star squad. One of her closest friends, Victoria's Secret angel Karlie Kloss, even turned to the other side and has been spotted hanging out with Swift's archenemy Katy Perry.
An unconfirmed report also claims that Swift also lost Lorde to Perry.
Neither Swift nor Kloss or Lorde has spoken about their falling out, but one of the pop singer's close friends has broken his or her silence. Apparently, Swift has practically ditched her friends.
Taylor Swift Squad Splits Up
"Celebrity friendships are weird. You don't see each other for forever, and you accept that — but Swift has gone off-grid in a big way since meeting Joe," a source who claims to be a member of the singer's squad revealed to Grazia.
Based on her new album, Swift seems very much in love with the actor who will be seen next alongside Academy Award-nominees Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie. In fact, a recent report noted that the "End Game" singer has been frequently flying to London to see Alwyn but has kept her visits secret by landing in a private field and opting to probably "Netflix and Chill" inside his home.
Moreover, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter told her squad not to talk about her in interviews, which her friends apparently did not like.
"I even heard about people getting requests not to mention her in interviews. It's hard when that's all you're asked about, but Taylor is hyper-sensitive," Grazia's anonymous source added. "I guess you have to be high-maintenance to become the biggest pop star in the world."
There seems to be a bit of truth in the rumor. Swift has stopped posting photos of her squad on Instagram, a far cry from back in 2016 when she regularly hung out with her celebrity friends. Last year, she even canceled her Independence Day party, which has become her personal tradition.
The public will probably get a confirmation when the singer goes on tour later this year. Swift has invited her celebrity friends to join her onstage since "The Red Tour" in 2013.
For this year's reputation tour, she already announced that Camila Cabello and Charli XCX will open for her. The tour will kick off on May 8 in Arizona.
Swift will soon release a music video for the song "Delicate."
