Liam Payne was recently invited to perform in front of the Royal Family on Commonwealth Day. The former One Direction member sung John Mayer's "Waiting on the World to Change."
However, Payne's performance made headlines not because he sang the song well. Rather, Prince Harry was spotted making a face and raising his eyebrows at his fiancée Meghan Markle. The former Suits star ended up laughing while Payne was singing.
The 24-year-old musician did not weigh in on Prince Harry's reaction during his performance, but he said that he has always wanted to sing Mayer's song in public.
"This is the perfect occasion for it. The way the world is at the moment, it is super apparent," said Payne.
This year's Commonwealth Day Service was also attended by Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker-Bowles, and Queen Elizabeth II.
Liam Payne Greets Cheryl On Mother's Day
Last month, Payne also made headlines after it was reported that his relationship with Cheryl is on the rocks. However, the "For You" singer slammed the rumors on Monday, March 12. Payne paid tribute to the mother of his son on Mother's Day.
In his post, Payne also called Cheryl "Momma Bear" because their son's name is Bear Grey Payne.
Liam Payne, Cheryl Plan Bear's First Birthday
This month, Bear will also be celebrating his first birthday, and Payne and Cheryl are expected to throw him a big bash. In February, a source close to the couple said that Payne and Cheryl have started planning for their son's birthday months ago.
"Plans for baby Bear's first birthday started ages ago — but then Liam booked some gigs in Japan straight afterwards. Liam will be here for the actual day [March 22], which is a Thursday, but then he has to fly the next day — but it means he won't be around for the weekend so the party can't happen then. There will be two parties for Bear — a small one with close friends and family, then a bigger one with friends and their children," said the source.
Are Liam Payne, Cheryl Still Together?
Payne and Cheryl were rumored to have broken up since last year. During a previous interview, Payne said that one of the songs from his debut album was about his almost-split from Cheryl.
"There is one song about a phone call that happened between me and her and she was about to say go — this was ages ago, and it's basically me trying to cling on saying no, it's going to work out, don't worry about it give it time," said Payne.
