Elton John just canceled two of his shows in Las Vegas so he could attend Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding on May 19.
John will not be performing the "Million Dollar Piano" at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas on May 18 and 19. However, his final global tour will continue as planned. John will perform on five continents over the span of three years as part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour. John's concert will kick off in September.
Will Elton John Perform At Meghan Markle, Prince Harry's Wedding?
John has not yet received an invitation to attend Prince Harry and Markle's wedding, but the music legend said that he is open to attending the royal event. John also said that he wants to perform at Prince Harry's nuptials since he is a close friend of Prince Harry's mom.
John previously revealed that he learned about Prince Harry and Markle's relationship last summer. The prince appeared to be very much in love with his then-girlfriend.
"He didn't discuss much personally but he said, 'I'm in love,' and I thought, 'Good for you.' Both of those boys seem to be ecstatically happy, and that's all you want people to be no matter who they are," said John.
The "Candle In the Wind" singer was very close to Princess Diana. However, just like other friends, the two had a falling out. Princess Diana reached out to John after years of not talking to each other when their other good friend, Gianni Versace, passed away. Six weeks later, John learned that Princess Diana also died in a car crash in Paris.
Elton John's Final Global Tour
John's 300-date tour will serve as his final global tour, but the singer will continue to perform at various gigs. He may also release a new album in the coming years. John explained that his three-year tour does not mean that he will be retiring for good. He simply wants to focus on his family.
"We had children. And that changed our lives. In 2015, David and I sat down with school schedule, and I thought, 'I don't want to miss this.' I've had an amazing life, I've had an amazing career... My life has changed, the priorities in my life have changed, my priorities are my children, my husband and my family," said John.
