Halsey's hit single "Alone" is reborn in this remix featuring Big Sean and Stefflon Don.
The track "Alone" debuted on Thursday, March 15, from Halsey's second studio album called the Hopeless Fountain Kingdom. Released back in June 2017, Halsey's album topped the Billboard 200 around the same time last year.
'Alone' Remix
The original version of the track recounts the troubles of a socialite who bemoans her stature because she has never forged a real connection and relationship with the people around her. Halsey, herself, said the track reminds her of Jay-Z in The Great Gatsby.
The addition of the new bridge by Stefflon Don and the second verse by Big Sean create more depth to the song's narrative by introducing more players.
For Big Sean's part, he introduces a new character in the story: a suitor who might be able to offer the female character (Halsey) the true love she has been seeking throughout the song.
"Uh, look/ I'm a real rare individual," he launches. "Cause baby, you been living life inside a bubble/ When the last time you had somebody hug you?/ Hold up, when the last time you had somebody hug you."
Meanwhile, Stefflon Don offers the internal monologue of the socialite who basks in the spotlight despite the haters.
Despite what the song suggests, Halsey is the not a loner socialite. The 23-year-old singer is currently dating rapper G-Eazy.
In a previous interview, the "Good Life" rapper recounted that he enjoys working and making good music with his equally creative girlfriend.
"We're coworkers, you know?," he told Us Weekly in an interview from the red carpet of iHeartRadio Awards 2018. "We both do this at a pretty high level, and it's really dope to get to share that kind of experience with the person you're actually dating."
Halsey As Diana Prince
The Grammy-nominated singer will also be heading to the big screen as Diana Prince a.k.a. Wonder Woman. Halsey was cast as the Amazonian princess in the Teen Titans GO! movie. She will star alongside Nicholas Cage who joins the DC universe as the Man of Steel himself, Clark Kent a.k.a. Superman.
The upcoming movie will also feature the original voice cast from the popular animated series on Cartoon Network.
Teen Titans Go! To the Movies will be released on July 27.
