Wu-Tang Clan Wants ‘Once Upon A Time In Shaolin’ Back From The Feds

Wu-Tang Clan finds an ally in James Comey, a former FBI director. The members of the hip-hop group and Comey want to take Once Upon A Time In Shaolin back from the feds.

On Tuesday, Ghostface Killah and Method Man appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Comey also happened to be there at the time. Following their interview with the host, Ghostface Killah shared a photo with the former FBI director on his Instagram account.

In his caption, the rapper revealed that Comey is also on the same page with the members of the group. Once Upon A Time in Shaolin is currently in the hands of the Justice Department.

The album was previously owned by Martin Shkreli. After he had been convicted of security fraud, Shkreli was forced to give the album up.

RZA Tries To Buy 'Once Upon A Time In Shaolin'

Last month, Wu-Tang Clan leader RZA said that he had tried to buy the album from Shkreli after he learned that the latter put it up on sale on eBay.

"I've actually tried to get it back but the paperwork and the contract stop me from getting it back. When [Shkreli] put it on eBay, the first thing I did was call my lawyer, and I was like, 'Yo, let's go.' And they said, 'All right, check with your contract.' And it's no, you can't do it. Ain't that a b****?" said RZA.

One of the terms in Wu-Tang Clan and Shkreli's deal is that the latter cannot sell the album to anyone else for 88 years. He is only allowed to play the songs on the album for personal use. However, Shkreli streamed the entire compilation following a bet he made involving Donald Trump's election.

During the same interview, RZA said that his goal is that the album will retain its value. He is not bitter over the fact that Once Upon A Time In Shaolin no longer belongs to the group.

"I would hope that the clauses that was given to Mr. Shkreli is upheld because it was a legal, binding thing that I would just hope that whatever happens, that legally, all the things that we thought to protect what it was and what it is remains intact," said RZA.

Wu-Tang Clan's other albums are Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), Wu-Tang Forever, Iron Flag, The W, A Better Tomorrow, 8 Diagrams, The Sting, Hidden Chambers, Wu-Tang Demo Tape, Bobby Digital in Stereo, and more.
