DJ Khaled received the ire of fans after he canceled his appearance at the 2018 Wireless Festival held in London on Sunday, July 8.
DJ Khaled Cancels Wireless Festival Appearance
The rapper and music producer was a headliner at the event and was scheduled to perform a set. However, hours after he was supposed to go onstage, the father of Asahd canceled his appearance due to "travel issues."
Canadian rapper Drake stepped in to perform a half-hour set as a surprise headliner. He played tracks from his new album, Scorpion, including "God's Plan," "Nice For What," and "Mob Ties."
Although his appearance at Wireless Festival was not advertised, The BBC reports that the chart-topping rapper's performance was scheduled before DJ Khaled pulled out the event. The two artists have collaborated a couple of times before, producing the hits "For Free" and "To The Max."
The Miami-based personality was not the first artist to cancel his headlining appearance at the 2018 Wireless Festival this year. Cardi B also had to pull out of the event now that she is expected to give birth any time soon.
Drake did not address the absence of the 42-year-old record producer from the music festival.
DJ Khaled Upsets Fans
Shortly after the cancellation of his set was announced, the "Wild Thoughts" artist continued posting photos of himself on a vacation at an undisclosed location with his family. On Twitter on Sunday, he shared a photo of himself soaking in a pool with son Asahd.
On the caption, he wrote: "Still on vacation!!!!!!!"
He also posted a photo of himsef in a private plane with his wife.
Fans, understandably, were upset to find out that the reason DJ Khaled canceled his appearance on Sunday night was because he wanted to extend his holiday with his family.
Rick Ross, Rae Sremmurd, Lil Uzi Vert also performed at the event.
