Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Karen O Records For Spike Jonze Movie 'Her,' but Arcade Fire Already Credited for Scoring Film

Spike Jonze and Yeah Yeah Yeahs fans will be doubly to find out that frontwoman Karen O will be participating in the upcoming film "Her." The trailer features two songs involving Karen: The first is "Skeletons," a song from the band's 2009 album "It's Blitz!" The second wasn't identified until Monday, and it seems to be an original written by the vocalist specifically for the movie. The title is "The Moon Song."

Jonze's film is a sci-fi/romance movie where Joaquin Phoenix acquires a computer sporting artificial intelligence and the voice of Scarlett Johansson to boot, so of course Phoenix's character falls in love with her. Might sound sappy, but Amy Adams, Rooney Mara and Olivia Wilde are also set to appear alongside Johansson for the guys in the audience. Jonze is largely renowned for his eccentric flicks, including "Being John Malkovich" and "Adaptation," which was nominated for Best Picture in 2003. Karen O handled the soundtrack for his 2009 film adaptation of classic children's storybook "Where The Wild Things Are."

Although "The Moon Song" has been allotted to Karen, she won't be handling the rest of the composing this time around. An advance copy of the film's credits suggest that fellow alternative rock favorites the Arcade Fire will be scoring the film. The Arcade Fire has taken on a hefty workload in 2013, between scoring for "Her" and preparing their presumed forthcoming fourth album, which some have theorized will be called "Reflektor." The Yeah Yeah Yeahs already released an album this year, "Mosquito."
