Usher is adding a new member to his brood. But let's also find out how he named his third kid with girlfriend, Jenn Goicoechea and the reason of picking such a name.
During the fashion red carpet show on Thursday's iHeartRadio Music Awards, the Yeah crooner closely stood beside his girlfriend, Jenn Goicoechea, donned in matching black outfits. Usher, 42 years of age this year, is lovingly holding his girlfriend's baby bump while the two showed happy smiles on camera.
'my little 'reign-bo'
The upcoming baby will be Usher's fourth, adding to his two sons--Naviyd Ely, 12, and Usher V, 13, from a previous marriage with Tameka Foster. Their marriage lasted for two years, from 2007 to 2009. In an interview, Usher revealed how he picked a name for his third kid.
"So, Sovereign, man, is such a beautiful word and name to me, you know, a supreme ruler is obviously the defined name. She's definitely ruling the household, but Sovereign Bo - Bo is at the end of it, so [she's] my little 'reign-bo.' "
Reign-bo first came out of the world back in November. The singer first introduced the baby during a virtual appearance at The Ellen DeGeneres Show, sharing his first photos with the newborn.
"She came out early. She was scheduled to be a Scorpio but decided she had a different plan. Libras, you know, they kinda have their minds made up what they wanna do," he shared.
How his boys are doing with their new sister
With a net worth of around $180 million, the hip-hop artist fondly shared intimate details precisely his boy's reaction to their new sister.
"...they're coping well...excited about being big brothers...they're a little bit too protective, even with me sometimes," he said.
"And as they get older, I'm less cool of a dad, so now I'm starting this whole cycle over again and I'm kind of the apple of [Sovereign's] eye right now," he added.
Hosting and Dancing at the iHeartRadio Music Festival
