Franz Ferdinand released their newest music video "Stand On The Horizon," a cut from last August's Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action, and it can be safely placed in the "what the hell?" category.
The film drifts from a dreamy seaside intro sequence into a small restaurant where the band plays, stoned-faced. In fact, there's not a single smile in the whole four-minute, 31-second video.
While Franz Ferdinand glides along in their signature manner, a small audience watches. Soon, the people begin to dance. But the dancefloor partnerships are uniform -- teenage boys dance with elderly women to the beat.
As the video builds to a climax, the people and band disappear, leaving only their shoes. Confused, the camera glides out of the room and back onto the beach, where the band members walk arm in arm with the elderly women. Everyone is singing the song's primary line: "Come to me now."
Sounds fun, right? Check out the video here:
Singer Alex Kapranos was in the news earlier this year for accusing Pharrell of stealing the riff from "Take Me Out," the band's 2004 hit.
But Kapranos backtracked a few days later while blaming the media for unknown crimes.
