Not more than five days after she teased her fans for a comeback, Britney Spears is getting cold feet on returning to music.

In a lengthy Instagram post she shared yesterday, the pop star said that there had been "so much wasted time" people had spent to embarrass" and "humiliate" her.

She goes on saying that people have no idea about the "awful" things people had done to her personally. Spears also mentioned that because of what she has been through, she is now "scared of people and the business".

The 40-year old popstar candidly says that "not doing" her music anymore is her way of "saying f*ck you" in a sense when it actually benefits her family. She thought she had "subconsciously" let her family win because of the conservatorship.

Britney's Controversial Conservatorship

The popstar was just recently released from her legal conservatorship with her father, Jamie Spears, last November 2021.

Britney has also revealed that she had hoped to "perform new songs and remixes of my [her] old songs" but was allegedly unable to do so while under the conservatorship.

Production companies created several documentaries and specials, including the New York Times Documentary "Framing Britney Spears" to account for the grueling legal and personal journey of the superstar in the hands of her father. The NY Times documentary got two Creative Emmy nods for Outstanding Documentary or Non-Fiction Special and Outstanding Picture Editing of a Non-Fiction Program.

Recent reports still say that his father Jamie Spears is steel leeching on SpearsDespite no longer being the custodian of Britney Spears' estate, her father Jamie is seeking more from her daughter.

Britney teases 'new song'

Last week, Britney excited her fans on Instagram as she posted a video of her singing a new song.

Just like what she did today, Britney also shaded her family in the same post last week.

Saying she had to be her own "cheerleader" after what her family did to her three years ago.

Fans are excited about the superstar's comeback, but after she announced her hesitancy, fans and followers alike are still supportive of her road to recovery.
