Not more than a day after joining the cast of "Chicago" on Broadway, Tony Winner James Monroe Iglehart will now be hosting "50 Years of Broadway".

Taking place at the Kennedy Center Opera House on February 11 and February 12, the once-in-a-lifetime celebration of the greatest highlights of Broadway history will feature performances from Tony-Award and Grammy-Award winners.

Hosted by Tony-Award Winner James Monroe Iglehart, the grand concert aims to pay homage to Broadway musicals' legacy at the Kennedy Center.

Aside from this, there will be a special tribute to the late Stephen Sondheim, whose significant contributions have changed the institution for the past half-century.

The much-awaited celebration stars Stephanie Block from The Cher Show, Alfie Boe and Francess Rufelle from Les Miserables, LaChanze from The Color Purple, and Andrew Rannells from The Book of Mormons.

Gavin Creel from Hello, Dolly!, Norm Lewis from Porgy and Bess, Sierra Boggess from School of Rock, Vanessa Williams from Into The Woods, and Christopher Jackson from Hamilton and Into the Heights will also be among the roster of star-studded performers set to appear on the two-day concerto.

A number of renowned musicals, including Pippin, Annie, and Les Misérables, have premiered at the Kennedy Center before moving on to Broadway. The Kennedy Center has also held recent spectacular revivals of Ragtime and Follies, which were transferred from the Kennedy Center to the Broadway stage.

According to Theatremania, additional casting will be announced at a later date as more performers are still expected to confirm.

Known for his incredible performance at Alladin as Genie, the 48-year old Tony Winner shared on Instagram to confirm that he will be joining the concert cast a day after being cast in "Chicago".

Billy Flynn in 'Chicago'

Aside from the hosting feat, James Monroe Iglehart also managed to snag the role of Billy Flynn in "Chicago" at Broadway.

Iglehart is set to replace Tony Nominee Tom Hewitt, who has played Flynn since November 2021.

Ana Villafañe plays Roxie Hart, Bianca Marroquin plays Velma Kelly, Tony Award-winner Jennifer Fouché plays Matron "Mama" Morton in the current production of Chicago.

James shared the news on Instagram, saying that he is excited to "Razzle Dazzle Em" in the legendary show, which is now dubbed the second-longest-running American musical in Broadway history since its opening in 1966 at the Ambassador Theatre.
