After an upsetting interview, Ari Lennox may have just admitted that she wants to get out of her label.
It was January 23 when the singer from Dreamville Records burst herself out on social media, saying she "[wants] to be dropped from the labels," adding that she's also "done and tired" in one of her series of tweets.
The "Pressure" singer also came after a user who tweeted, "One interview that was inappropriate but about your song lyrics and you fold this much?" And to her response, she wants "to be free," admitting that her recent interview was "the icing on the cake."
The 'Inappropriate' Interview
The tweets brought up by the star came after her recent appearance in "Podcast & Chill" with MacG, who asked invasive questions about the 30-year-old singer's sex life. While they were discussing one of her old songs called "Pop," the South African journalist referenced the lyrics, asking Lennox if she has anyone "f*cking her good right now," which shocked his guest.
After the episode aired, the Washington, D.C. native shared her side of the story on Twitter, saying that she felt "blindsided" by the question and upset about the "parts of the interview [weren't] destroyed like the team promised." In another post, she exclaimed, "Just because I happily and freely sing/write about sex don't make any kind of creepy disrespect warranted. I clearly was in immense shock and hate that I didn't react differently."
Lennox still didn't stop after a few more tweets and continued to blast her feelings, later on, saying, "I will continue to sing about d*ck when I want!"
"And you misogynistic peasants can continue to jerk off to my music, thank you!!! Good morning," she added.
"For Christ's sake. I realize I have no hits," she further claimed a few hours later. "I realize you all can live without hearing my music. I realize my complaining is so aggravating to y'all. I don't ask blogs to post me when I'm at my work. You judgemental self-hating parasites wouldn't last a day as a signed artist."
