The annual on-air celebration features a special moment with Lizzo.
With the upcoming celebration of Black History Month in the United States and Canada, iHeart Radio announces the line-up for the annual "iHeartRadio Living Black! Empowered by AT&T".
iHeartRadio announced recently that the special event would feature performances from Big Sean, Ari Lennox, H.E.R and include a "special moment" with Lizzo.
Aside from the announced line-up, iHeartRadio Living Black! Empowered by AT&T will also spotlight EGOT Winner John Legend, J. Cole, Alicia Keys, Saweetie, and Bas, among many others.
Living Black!
The 2nd iHeartRadio Living Black! Empowered by AT&T will culminate at the iHeartRadio Theater Los Angeles and Black-owned businesses across the continent.
In a statement released by iHeart, many of the artists selected to perform at this year's iHeartRadio Living Black! have significantly impacted the Black community.
These artists have contributed through sharing their music and perspective on their fans via TikTok, which will also be one of their major collaborators this year.
The "iHeartRadio Living Black!" event, which will take place on February 23, will be produced by Rikki Hughes of Magic Lemonade.
Hughes is an Emmy and Grammy award-winning producer who is also a 2022 AT&T Dream in Black Future Maker.
This year's celebration is one-of-a-kind performances into a dramatic audio and visual celebration of the Black experience, showcasing artists, actors, and content creators who have impacted culture, as well as Black leaders who have shaped culture, the statement says.
Doc Wynter, President of Hip Hop and R&B Programming for iHeartMedia, stated that they were "thrilled" to honor Black History Month and Black Culture once again.
Wynter also added that the celebration would not just include performances from Black artists, but they will also have ongoing and informative discussions about race and culture.
Collaboration with AT&T and TikTok
Working with AT&T, this year's iHeartRadio Living Black! is empowered by the telco giant to produce the special event to celebrate Black History Month.
AT&T Director of Marketing and Special Experiences Angele Burgin says in a statement that they are excited to collaborate on the event as the platform "connects the community", including AT&T's Dream in Black Future Makers to "amplify, celebrate, and elevate Black voices".
Aside from AT&T, social media game-changer, TikTok will also play a huge part in the special event.
The event will be exclusively streamed on TikTok for the first time on February 23, 2021, and broadcasted via iHeartMedia Hip-Hop and R&B Stations and the iHeartRadio App Nationwide.
