Ben Lenet was enjoying the Arctic Monkeys set at Lollapalooza on Friday when he was suddenly attacked. He and two of his friends had to fight off a strange man who reportedly approached them from behind and bit Lenet so hard that a chunk of flesh was ripped from his arm.
"The attacker then turns his head and clamps his teeth into my arm for a good 5 seconds. He's not nipping at me. He's trying to bite through my arm," said Lennet in a Reddit post.
The attack ended when the assailant lunged toward another one of Lenet's friends' legs, who promptly kicked him squarely in the face. The attacker then supposedly walked off unfazed, despite being brutally beaten by the three men in self defense.
Lenet immediately went to a medical tent and was taken via ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital. Since he was given an open flesh wound, Lenet is now unfortunately at risk for Hepatitis and HIV, and is undergoing blood tests to determine if he has been infected. He was also given a tetanus shot and antibiotics.
Lenet took to Reddit to share details of the assault and to ask if there are any witnesses who can help identify his attacker or provide any recorded evidence to Chicago PD. Lenet said everything happened so fast, he didn't get a real chance to look at the assailant. The most accurate description he is able to give is a 170 to 210-pound male, between 5'7" and 5'11", with dark skin.
It seems the attack has spoiled the fun of Lollapalooza for Lenet, who regularly attended the festival for years.
"For what it's worth, I took off my 3-Day pass and didn't go back Saturday or Sunday. I'm done with Lolla for a while," he said.
If you have any information or gave witness to the attack, be sure to help Lenet catch his assailant by posting it here.
