After announcing the release of their new album in November last year, Korn has taken a different route for their release.

The Nu-Metal band has revealed more details on the launch of their new album, "Requiem".

"Requiem", the band's 14th album effort, will come on Friday, February 4, 2022.

Released by Loma Vista Recordings, the album has been previewed by the tracks "Forgotten" and "Start the Healing", which came out earlier this January 2022.

In a Twitter post on the band's official account, a "Requiem Mass" will be held for the release of their new album.

The Requiem Mass is an "intimate" ceremony and live performance at the Hollywood United Methodist Church in Los Angeles.

Taking place on February 3, 2022, at 8:00 PM Pacific time, the performance will be live-streamed globally via the band's Youtube channel.

According to the band's announcement, the Requiem Mass will gather them "in honour of the souls that have passed during these unprecedented times".

Tickets, however, are limited but will be available starting today, February 1, 2022.

The broadcast comes ahead of the band's planned US tour in support of "Requiem", which will begin on March 4, 2022, in Springfield, Missouri, and conclude on April 14, 2022.

Korn is scheduled to appear at Download Festival in June, marking their only confirmed live performance in the United Kingdom in 2022.

Aside from the "Requiem Mass" happening this week, Korn is busy touring with the American heavy metal band System Of A Down.

Joining forces

Last December, the two metal bands System Of A Down and Korn announced that they would be pairing up for the anticipated joint concerts that were planned before the pandemic struck in 2020.

Originally scheduled for May 2020, the Los Angeles shows have been postponed three times due to the pandemic, the most recent being when System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian tested positive for COVID on the day of the tour.

As a side note, Faith No More was previously planned to co-headline the performances with System Of A Down and Korn before all of their own upcoming shows were canceled.

However, it was canceled in order to allow Faith No More vocalist Mike Patton to attend to his mental health.
