Monkees' Micky Dolenz shared its plans to honor his late bandmates -- Michael Nesmith, Peter Tork, and Davy Jones - through a special tour.
Following the Monkees' debut in 1966 and their first official break up in 1970, Dolenz had to deal with losses as three band members died consecutively in the past years.
For this year, he came up with a special project to honor his late bandmates while giving fans their music again.
Micky Dolenz Celebrates the Monkees Tour
In a statement shared by Rolling Stone, the 76-year-old musician revealed he would kick off the "Micky Dolenz Celebrates the Monkees" starting in April. According to Dolenz, he realized how important it is to invite the fans to properly remember and celebrate the lives of Nesmith, Tork, and Jones.
"People have been contacting me, requesting that I honor them in a way where the extraordinary impact of the Monkees can be properly acknowledged. We spent such a great deal of time together; they were like my brothers, and I want to share some of the great joy we had together," he said.
Although his bandmates are now gone, Dolenz will reportedly conquer the stage with a seven-piece band. They will then play all band's hits, including the signature songs created by the three late members, including Tork's "For Pete's Sake," Nesmith's "Papa Gene's Blues," and Jones' "(Look Out) Here Comes Tomorrow."
The tour will start on April 5 at Ryman Auditorium and is expected to end on the 16th at the Overture Center For the Arts.

Before the new tour begins, Dolenz previously had a Monkees farewell tour with Nesmith. It ended 26 days before his bandmate's death due to heart failure.
After the news about Nesmith's death broke, Dolenz expressed his heartbreak to Rolling Stone, saying he only found out about Nesmith's admission to a hospice days after their tour.
"I knew what that meant. I had my moment then and I let go. It's just good to know that he passed peacefully," he said.
Jones also suffered the same dreaded disease in 2012, while Tork died in 2019 after his battle against adenoid cystic carcinoma. Tork shared his cancer journey until the illness returned in 2018.
