It seems like The Red Hot Chilli Peppers is on a roll, and they are not stopping anytime soon. The band, set to drop their twelfth studio album, is in talks to release a follow-up album shortly.

The Red Hot Chilli Peppers band recently announced that "Unlimited Love", their twelfth studio album, will launch on April 1, 2022, via Warner Bros. Records.

After releasing "The Getaway" in 2016, this will be the band's first full-length album in almost six years.

New album coming soon?

RHCP vocalist Anthony Kiedis and returning guitarist John Frusciante told NME in last week's Big Read that their fans should anticipate new songs from the band on a "more frequent basis" in the future.

Anthony announced that they would put out music literally "by the handful" and boasted fans not to be surprised if "another wheelbarrow of songs" come in the way in the forthcoming months and years.

Returning Red Hot Chilli Pepper guitarist John Frusciante mentioned a "loose plan" is in the works for a follow-up album after "Unlimited Love".

Frusciante revealed that the band has "recorded almost 50 pieces of music" during sessions with the band's producer Rick Rubin.

The future of the band

After a decade-long absence, John Frusciante rejoined The Red Hot Chill Peppers in December 2019, replacing John Klinghoffer, the band's guitarist in his absence.

In a previous interview, the band revealed that John's return had been a "monumental change" in their lives.

Since his return, they have been up and nothing in producing more music for the fans, especially the "Unlimited Love" album.

"We definitely have enough material that we love," John said, adding that RHCP's next album after "Unlimited Love" has already have a "relaxed energy that's distinct from the intensity of the record" that the band initially had

On the other hand, Kiedis explained that he did not ought to re-tell the "same old story" that they keep on hearing for the last 50 years in the music scene.

"I liked reaching out in 10,000 directions and seeing what was out there. We weren't limiting ourselves but trying to tap into something that is honest and emotional. Hopefully we've said something that hasn't been said before, or at least said it in a way that hasn't.", Kiedis said.
