Many fans are excited for the release of Ed Sheeran's collaboration with longtime friend Taylor Swift for the song "The Joker and The Queen." Is their upcoming music video a nod to their previous project?
The Grammy Award-winning musicians, who have been friends for a long time, are set to release the new single accompanied by a music video on February 11.
According to Glamour Magazine, the English songwriter shared a teaser for the music video. Fans have noticed a big easter egg, suggesting that the video is a continuation of their 2012 collaboration titled "Everything Has Changed."
In the first project released almost a decade ago, Ava Ames and Jack Lewis appeared as the younger version of Swift and Sheeran.
Ten years later, the duo was re-casted for "The Joker and The Queen."
Fans immediately noticed the hidden detail and shared their reactions online, with one fan writing, "it's literally the continuation of everything has changed."
"OMG! They look exactly SAME as they did when they were kids! Taylor, I admire u," another fan wrote.
One Swiftie theorized that the reason why Taylor Swift has been quiet over the past few weeks is that the upcoming music video might be the conclusion of the "Red (Taylor's Version)" era, and she could possibly announce the next re-recorded album.
However, the singer's team has not publicly confirmed the information
The official music video will drop on February 11 at midnight GMT.
Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran's Friendship
Throughout the years, the two powerhouse singers/songwriters have been sharing the same sentiments regarding music.
In a previous interview, Swift noted that both underwent "through so many changes but it stays the same with us."
The "Wildest Dreams" singer said her connection with Sheeran was one of those friendships where it doesn't seem to move, but he always got her back and is present whenever she needs someone to talk to. (via MSN)
Swift also said it's nice to have a person who also felt the "same kind of stresses and challenges in life."
From Ed Sheeran's perspective, he once took his good friend to a local pub in Suffolk, England, where they had a good time, and no one recognized who Swift was.
