When a band or an artist releases new music, they usually amp up their social media presence to signify their comeback.
Teasers, live streams, and other appearances are some of the few things artists do during these crucial times, but for The 1975, they might take the opposite route.
English pop-rock band The 1975 have deleted all their social media pages while also shutting down their website blank.
As of writing, the band's official Instagram and Twitter accounts have both been disabled, and their official website is only a blank white page with no other information or content.
However, this act is not new to fans of the band.
Social media detox might be the band's thing?
Previously, months before releasing new music, The 1975 goes on what seemed to be a "social media detox" to some, disabling all of their social media accounts and online presence.
This year's media blackout is also similar to their 2015 album "I Love It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It," 2019's
"Notes On A Conditional Form," and 2018's "A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships."
Last month, the band seemed to be returning to the studio to work on new music for their upcoming fifth studio album.

New album for 2022
In the monochromatic video posted by The 1975 frontman Matty Healy, he is strumming with an acoustic guitar while recording equipment is positioned beside him.
The Instagram post was captioned "Part 5, day 1", hinting at their first day working on their fifth album.
The upcoming album is a follow-up on the band's "Notes On A Conditional Form," a subject of speculation for fans because of Matty Healy's hints on "making another classic" last year.
The 1975 manager Jamie Oborne somehow confirmed the upcoming music over a tweet just recently. Teasing fans how he wished he could play the band's new music, Oborne described it as "so beautiful."
Oborne also shared on Instagram a more telling indication of the band's new music in the works last month.
The 1975's frontman Matty Healy also graced Phoebe Bridger's Los Angeles show last October 2021.
Phoebe teamed up with Matty to perform their 2020 collaboration "Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America", marking the duo's first public performance together while playing the music.
