Although popularly known for her television and film acting, Sabrina Carpenter has also been busy becoming the next teen pop sensation, especially with her new single.
With the likes of Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, it looks like Sabrina Carpenter is paving her own path like her fellow Disney alums who have taken the road of pop music.
The 22-year old teen pop singer just released her new single, "Fast Times," along with its action-packed music video.
Sabrina is playing two girls at the same time, a brunette, and a blonde, in what seemed to be a police chase on a busy road.
Later on, Carpenter fights another goon, donning an all-black outfit hurrying to protect a suitcase that she has been carrying since the beginning.
"Fast times and fast nights/Closed eyes and closed blinds, we couldn't help it," she sings on the track. "Our thighs on bedsides/Give me a second to forget I ever really meant it."
The "Skins" hitmaker proceeded to show her dancing chops in the chorus, all with backup dancers.
The 3-minute video ended with Sabrina opening the briefcase in a vague smile, leaving viewers wondering what's inside.
New album coming soon?
Her new single, "Fast Times," reportedly includes Sabrina Carpenter's upcoming fifth studio album.
The new album will be the pop singer's first album released with Island Records, after parting ways with Hollywood Records.
The new album follows her 2019 "Singular Act II."
Still, she has separately released a few singles like "Skinny Dipping" and "Skin," which was rumored to be aimed at her fellow Disney alum Olivia Rodrigo.
Carpenter was recently entangled in a rumor/issue between Olivia Rodrigo and the latter's on-screen loveteam Joshua Bassett in High School Musical: The Musical: The series.
Last month, the Girl Meets World star revealed that she had left easter eggs of her new album's name on her previous work, something that Sabrina Carpenter fans have wanted to uncover.
"I feel like it's something a few artists do, and I feel like I just really have had an amazing relationship with my fans over the years, and they love being detectives and I like playing into it," Sabrina explained in Tonight With Jimmy Fallon.
Carpenter also mentioned that her upcoming album will reflect a side of her that is "yet to be heard."
