After a series of what seemed to be a huge news underway, The Weeknd's "announcement" will be postponed indefinitely.

Abel Tesfaye, more widely known as The Weeknd, tweeted a series of cryptic messages on Twitter yesterday that did not sit well on most of his fans and followers.

He seemed to be exciting fans over something massive he will announce today, possibly a new collaboration, a bonus "Dawn FM Track."

With his tweets spelling "tomorrow" accompanied with the globe emoji, Abel bothered a number of his fans with the timing of the supposed announcement.

Fans spoke their minds and replied to Abel's tweets with screenshots that coincided with the singer's tweets with the news of the current catastrophic conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

One of Abel's cryptic tweets reads, "what a journey ... we're finally here," have fans, however, hyped up, as others thought that the supposed news was an announcement of his Dawn FM World Tour.

But after a few hours, Abel realized the timing of his tweets, as pointed out by his fans on social media.

Although many fans of The Weeknd were disappointed by the cancellation, others thought it was the proper thing to do out of respect for Ukrainians.

Tesfaye did not say what the announcement would be about before announcing the event's postponement.

After Hours is the first part of a trilogy, and he had suggested earlier this year that his most recent album Dawn FM is the second part of a trilogy, leading some to speculate that new music may be on the way.

However, this is not the first time that The Weeknd has posted a string of "Let's Go" after his album drops out. He also did the same thing with "After Hours" in 2020.

The Dawn FM Experience

The Weeknd's Dawn FM Experience, on the other hand, is still on the schedule despite the cancellation the Abel's "announcement."

On Saturday, the music spectacular will air exclusively on Amazon's Prime Video service.

Variety reports that the "Dawn FM Experience" will expand The Weeknd's latest album.

The collaboration will transform "Dawn FM" into "a theatrical performance event that will "envelope audiences in its unnerving and moody world."
