Explaining to his 5.5 million followers, the Dead & Company frontman revealed that he's excited to work with other singers and try to venture out more opportunities in the music industry.

"Hard as it is to say goodbye, I'm excited to pursue new avenues of making music, both of my own and with other artists."

Diving down on Mayer's reasons

Currently on a break from his "Sob Rock Tour," fans were shocked by Mayer's very recent announcement about his exit.

According to the outlet, it seems like Mayer wanted to give more time to his current band, Dead and Company, rather than focusing on his solo career, emphasizing his reason for "working with other artists."

In addition, another probable cause of his exit would be he felt taken for granted as more of a catalog rather than an artist.
