In the music industry today, artists need not only talent and skill; but also good friendships and the right network that can put them in the most favorable place for their careers.

For Terrence LeVarr Thornton, more commonly known as Pusha-T, he has found a good friend in music producer Pharell Williams.

Pusha-T, who has currently collaborated with Japanese fashion designer, now rapper-producer Nigo, shared an anecdote that might have led him to a possibly more illustrious path.

Talking to his 2.6 million followers on Instagram, the "Mercy" hitmaker shared a snippet of their new music and an anecdote from the former The Voice coach.

Kingpush told followers that when Pharell had heard of "Hear Me Clearly", his new collab with Nigo, the "Happy" singer's comment on the track left him devastated.

"I don't want you to be a mixtape rapper for the rest of your life," Pharell said.

While some people would just drop a bomb comment like that and leave, Pharell followed through and flew Pusha to Miami and produced the first part of what the "If You Know You Know" singer claimed to be his "best album ever."

Pusha ended the post with an inspiring takeaway: "Moral of the story...always "push" your friends to be greater, even when they're the greatest."

Fortunately, Pusha-T's avid fans welcomed the insight from Pharell, who is an award-winning producer, as they believe it would "push" Pusha-T to formulate a better version of his upcoming album.

Diet Coke and the upcoming album

In a recent performance at the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Pusha T performs his "chilling" performance of the lead single to his upcoming album "Diet Coke."

"Diet Coke" was produced by 88-Keys and "DONDA 2" hitmaker Kanye West.

Although the title, release date, and cover art have yet to be announced, Kanye and The Neptunes will produce the much-anticipated sequel to the Grammy-nominated album "DAYTONA," Pusha's most recent album.

Pusha set the bar higher as he claimed that his upcoming album would be "one thousand percent" better than anything else as it has also been reported that Jay-Z would peek for a small cameo.

"I really impressed myself with it because creating this during this time of the pandemic and having my son, I've really created the hardest and best album of the year," he declared in a Complex interview.
