Hosted by the Country music Queen Dolly Parton, this year's Academy of Country Music Awards was extraordinary, especially for Miranda Lambert, who took home the biggest award.
Held at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas yesterday, the 2022 ACM Awards gathered country music artists and legends alike in one of country music's biggest nights.
The Entertainer of The Year Award was one of the most-anticipated recognitions that any of the attendees and viewers have been waiting for.
Miranda Lambert Wins Entertainer of The Year
After several years of trying, Miranda Lambert finally brought home the bacon as the academy recognized her as the 2022 ACM Entertainer of the Year.
However, as Dolly Parton noted, Miranda was not present at the venue and will be receiving the award in video from London.
"Unfortunately, Miranda couldn't be here tonight because she's working overseas," Parton explained.
In a short thank you speech, the "The House That Built Me" hitmaker almost tearfully accepted the award as she missed the ceremony after attending for 17 years consecutively at the time when she was supposed to receive the most coveted award.
"My heart is a little broken, but I'm happy to be where I am. I've been waiting for this for a really, really long time. I actually never thought it would happen.
But thank you so much to the country music family for embracing me all these years and continuing to support me," Miranda said.
Lambert penned a sweet encouragement for female singer-songwriters who "put their blood, sweat and tears into their guitar strings."
She then expressed her gratitude to the ACMs and her management despite being absent from the event.
Miranda is in London as she will be headlining London's "Country to Country" music fest on Friday along with fellow nominee Luke Combs.
Miranda Lambert has emerged victorious against Eric Church, Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton, and Carrie Underwood for this year's category.
Now that she won the award for performer of the year, Lambert - who went into the night with a total of five nominations - has now earned the Triple Crown Award.
The coveted title signifies that she has been named new female artist of the year, female artist of the year, and entertainer, among other honors.
