Baby Tate Doing The Megatron Challenge

Tate tells DX how Queen of Rap Nicki Minaj gave her a massive co-sign online after participating in an online submission contest.

"2019, is when I did the 'Megatron' Challenge. And getting that recognition from Nicki Minaj was freaking crazy for me because that's someone that I've looked up to and been inspired by since I was 14 years old. So, that was definitely the biggest moment for me," Baby Tate revealed.

More widely known as Baby Tate, Tate Sequoya Harris is one of the many rappers hailing from Atlanta, Georgia.

The 25-year old female rapper revealed that when she got the news that Nicki Minaj had approved her "Megatron Challenge," she was in the salon.

Tate felt that people around her doubted that she would be making it until she did it.

"And I as in Little Five Points getting my lashes done. So, my eyes were closed; I was getting my lashes done, and then right when I'm finished, I open up my eyes, check my phone, and my notifications were going crazy," she continued.

Upon finding out Nicki's tweet, she confessed that she was running around excitedly on the massive co-sign she received from one of her idols.

Baby Tate's other female inspirations

Aside from Nicki Minaj, Baby Tate has drawn inspiration from other strong black women in her life, including her mother and one of Nicki's close friends - Rihanna.

Unknown to some, Baby Tate is the daughter of renowned soul musician Dionne Farris, which Tate confirmed as her "foundational support system."

Rihanna is Tate's biggest feminine inspiration, even before RiRi got Tate to become an ambassador for her Savage X Fenty brand.
