Ahead of an upcoming benefit concert for Ukraine-Russia war victims, American rock band, Devo, makes a big move for the war-torn country.

Devo is standing with numerous musicians and artists worldwide and condemning Russia for its war on the neighboring country, Ukraine.

Devo Donates Song Revenue for Ukraine Aid

Rolling Stone reports that the band will donate the licensing revenue from their entire song discography for the month of April.

Devo will donate the proceeds to Ukrainian relief organizations with their personal contributions and the April revenues.

Music Saves UA and World Central Kitchen are reported to receive the Ohio-born band's catalog revenue.

In a statement (via Pitchfork), co-founders Gerald Casale and Mark Mothersbaugh condemn Russian President Vladimir Putin for its "rape of a sovereign nation."

"To help the victims of Putin's unprovoked war, Devo will be donating these revenues from the licenses of our song catalog throughout the month of April," they announced.

The new-wave band also invites their right holder partners in masters and publishing matters to join their cause. Not just that, the band also called on other musicians and artists to do the same thing as them to make the massive gesture reach its momentum.

Music Saves UA, one of the beneficiaries of Devo's catalog revenue," is incredibly grateful" for all the donations and constant help and support from the world of music and culture, its representative Vlad Yaremchuk says.

On the other hand, World Central Kitchen, the other beneficiary of Devo's initiative, has been providing hot meals in Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Moldova, and Hungary at border crossings and shelters in Europe.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Devo has prioritized supporting political and social causes and "using music and performance art as commentary on conformity, emotional repression and dehumanization."
