Taylor Swift fans rejoice. The singer just announced that she is releasing a new song. It's called "Carolina" and will be featured in a mystery movie. Exciting!
The singer's writing prowess is already known so what's more intriguing about the new song is that she wrote it "alone." It is then produced with longtime friend and colleague Aaron Dessner.
The two previously worked together on Taylor's critically acclaimed eighth and ninth studio albums, Folklore and Evermore. An adaptation of Delia Owens's 2018 novel "Where the Crawdads Sing" into a movie will be featuring the said new Taylor Swift song, according to the Hollywood Reporter. As soon as the good news broke, fans raced to social media to share their joy.
Some said the news changed their bad days, especially since many are in the middle of exam season.
"The fact that I had the worst day because my exams were really hard but now I don't care because Taylor is releasing a new song. Day = made," one wrote
Because the song was already featured in the movie's trailer, a few lines of what is yet is to come is already heard, which had fans yelling and screaming. Case in point, one fan wrote: "I've only heard 3 lyrics and I'm already shaking and crying and screaming, AND THE FACT THAT IT'S SELD WRITTEN??!?!?!?! I won't be surviving."

Many cannot wait for the whole song to drop.
Daisy Edgar-Jones, a 23-year-old Normal People actor, will appear in the film, which will be produced by Reese Witherspoon, 46.
"I wrote the song Carolina alone and asked my friend @aarondessner to produce it. I wanted to create something haunting and ethereal to match this mesmerizing story," Swift wrote when she posted about the news on Instagram.
Taylor said that the full version of Carolina will be released "soon," despite the song not having an official release date yet. It's right around the corner, for sure.
In addition to complimenting Daisy and Reese, the "Blank Space" singer talked about her appreciation of the literature on which the film is based.
To have her song featured in this movie adaptation must have been surreal. Swift admitted that she was completely sucked by Where the Crawdads Sing when she read it years ago.
"As soon as I heard there was a film in the works starring the incredible @daisyedgarjones and produced by the brilliant @reesewitherspoon, I knew I wanted to be a part of it from the musical side," she added.
