Days after Taylor Hawkins' death, Machine Gun Kelly recounted an earlier encounter with the late Foo Fighters drummer when they last met in Paraguay.

Supposedly playing at the Asuncionico festival in Paraguay, Machine Gun Kelly and the Foo Fighters are set to play on the festival's first day.

Because of heavy thunderstorms and flooding in the country, the festival organizers postponed the first day and eventually canceled the second day.

Machine Gun Kelly, Taylor Hawkins Encounter in Paraguay

In an episode of the Howard Stern Show, Machine Gun Kelly revisited their encounter with the Foo Fighters and Taylor Hawkins, particularly days before her sudden death.

Thrilled to be sharing the same stage with the iconic band, Machine Gun Kelly was in talks with Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, who will be watching his show for the first time.

However, after the show was canceled, Grohl invited Kelly and his band to a private party atop their hotel, which the "Emo Girl" singer has reluctantly accepted at first.

Upon arriving at the party, Machine Gun Kelly noted how Hawkins had welcomed and talked to each and every one of them, including his assistant.

Kelly went on and gushed about how the late drummer was "a beautiful soul" and at the same time had a "bright" personality.

"The last thing that he had said to [my drummer was] 'I'm just so bummed I didn't get to see you guys play.', and I really want to thank him and let his kids know that he made us feel - in a time where the outside world and outside of the fans, the outside world is really coming in hard on us - and he made us feel so confident in ourselves and loved," Machine Gun Kelly elaborated.

The 31-year old singer, who almost tearfully shared the fulfilling story, described the encounter with Hawkins and the band as "the greatest night of [their] life."
