Kanye West will not be gracing the Coachella stage anymore as he apparently pulled the plug on the upcoming performance.

Variety and TMZ sources have reported that the "DONDA" rapper is pulling out of his scheduled headlining act at this year's Coachella Festival.

Kanye West is headlining the Coachella Festival from Apr. 15 until Apr. 24, 2022, at Indio, California, alongside Grammy-winning artists Billie Eilish and Harry Styles.

Why is Kanye West Not Playing at Coachella?

Although the official reasons for the cancellation are not yet disclosed, Variety reports that Kanye has not yet rehearsed nor prepared for the upcoming act in the coming weeks.

News about West's no-show at the Coachella might not be a shock to everyone, as petitions for his removal from the lineup have been circulating all over social media in the past weeks because of his questionable social media behaviour.

Aside from the petition circulating online, rumours about Kanye possibly bringing Travis Scott during his set have also hit the headlines over the past few months.

Most notably, Scott was removed from the official lineup last December 2021 after a petition forcing Coachella to eliminate him gathered more than 60,000 signatures.

The uproar on Scott's inclusion was due to the ongoing investigation of the infamous Astroworld Festival, where a catastrophic stampede happened while the "SICKO MODE" rapper was performing onstage. The tragic accident claimed the lives of 10 concertgoers, injured hundreds, and birthed almost 3,000 lawsuits.

Kanye Wests Bags Two GRAMMYs Despite Performance Ban

The Academy's decision came on the heels weeks after Yeezy spat fire over GRAMMY host Trevor Noah over the late-night show host on his ongoing fiasco with estranged wife Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson.

He has recently been barred from performing at the 2022 GRAMMYs because of his "concerning online behaviour."

But despite the performance ban, Ye successfully added two more GRAMMY Awards to his already long shelf of awards.

Kanye took home the Best Melodic Rap Performance for his collaboration with The Weeknd on "Hurricane," while the Jay-Z featured "Jail" is hailed the Best Rap Song.

Totalling his GRAMMY Awards to 24, Kanye shares the historical record of having the most wins for a hip-hop artist ever with Jay-Z, who also has 24 gramophones in his belt.
