Once sharing his sob story about already broke, rapper 6ix9ine now receives a lot of heat for his arrogant display of wealth. There was nothing subtle about it - he really showed off his "luxury" jewelry and his glitzy lifestyle.
Rapper Tekashi69, real name Daniel Hernandez, 25, has resorted to Instagram to show off his opulent lifestyle and boast about how he could afford to "take two years off" from music.
Naturally, this does not sit with his followers and fans.
While holding large amounts of cash, 6ix9ine proclaims himself "King of New York" in the video.
He goes on to say, "Tomorrow, 15 April, listen you know I don't address nothing, I'm never gonna dress nothing. Y'all believe what you wanna believe.
"That's a half a ticket right there. I'm really the type, I'm really the type that could take two years off, because this is really my lifestyle," he added.
"I do not cap, this is really my lifestyle. This is how I really live."
A diamond-encrusted chain with a watch hanging from it is displayed when the rapper gets closer to the camera.
A house is right here, he says, as he pointed to one of his timepieces. He just means he can buy a whole residential property with that watch. He does not only have one though, but a total of five!
He then displays the remaining four, calculating their value as one home each watch, for a total of five houses.
His wristwatch, though, may be worth as much as two houses, he adds.
As 6ix9ine weaves through the parked sports vehicles, he explains to the camera why people don't like him.

To prove his 'net worth in the trunk,' he opens the front trunk of one of his cars, tosses the cash into a mound in front of him, counts the total - $1.3 million - and nonchalantly walks away with a few stacks.
If that was not crude enough, his caption was even more cringeworthy. He directly told his followers that they cannot afford things like he does and cannot do what he can. True or not, very few can do that without sparking some ire.
In the caption he states: "YOU DONT LIVE LIKE THIS I OWN EVERYTHING YOU GUYS LEASE️ I TOOK OFF RAP 2 YEARS️ I COULD DO THAT YALL CANT️ THE REAL KING OF NEW YORK️"
People don't like him because of his wealth, but the way he flaunts it is what they don't like about him, viewers of the video pointed out.
Some pointed out the rapper is doing everything he can to remain relevant. Some said he has to be reminded his endeavors would be considered as weak, and that the jewelry he leases to make these videos will one day be ripped from his chicken neck and when that day comes, this would even be applauded. Some said too many people now acting like this, always acting like a fool to prove something.
This is hardly the first time he did this. But this one is just eyebrow-raising, considering recent court documents he filed in March 2022 reveal that he is going broke, with little income helping him. If things have turned around for him, it's too early to be high and mighty about it.
