Congrats to Vince Gill - a New Grandpa!

On August 4th, Vince Gill was playing a show in Nashville when he made a big announcement - he is a brand new grandpa! He was sharing the stage at the time with The Time Jumpers and they tweeted the news to their fans with their congratulations to Vince. Vince followed up with his own tweet this afternoon that his daughter Jenny and her husband Josh Van Valkenburg welcomed their first child together, Wyatt Gill Van Valkenburg, on Monday, August 4th at 7:26 pm. Baby Wyatt weighed in a 8 lbs. 6 oz.

This past May, Vince shared the good news that his daughter was expecting with fans at a concert in Merrillville, Indiana. He shared how Jenny had told him the good news at Christmas. He said, "I always get socks and underwear. And it's become a tradition for me to make everyone breakfast on Christmas morning. So when my daughter Jenny came in the kitchen and said she had one more gift for me, I thought, 'Oh great, more underwear.' But instead, she handed me a card with an ultrasound picture in it of the baby that's on the way."

Jenny is the daughter of Gill and his ex-wife Janis Oliver. She married music-publishing executive Josh Van Valkenburg on May 8, 2010 at an outdoor wedding ceremony at Vince and Amy's Nashville home. The couple have been nearly life-long friends after meeting in the third grade.
