It seems like Jack Harlow is gearing towards a massive album drop anytime soon as his latest single is first in class on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

Jack Harlow's heavily sampled track "First Class" makes its way to the top of the class as it debuted on the No. 1 spot, dethroning Harry Style's record-breaking single "As It Was."

"First Class" hit TikTok a week ago, making the song an instant trend on the video-sharing platform - it catapulted to the top of the charts after earning 54.6 million on-demand streams in its first week.

The Fergie-sampled single bested Coachella headliner Harry Styles' newest lead single, "As It Was," which made history last week as the first track to debut atop the chart this year.

"As It Was" now predictably fallen to the second spot as it only generated 32.3 million streams this week.

'First Class' vs 'As It Was', which was the bigger debut?

In terms of streaming records, Jack Harlow has the bigger debut.

"First Class had 54.6 million streams in its first week, while "As It Was" only had 43.8 million opening week streams.

However, Harry Styles remain unbeatable when it comes to radio airplay.

"As It Was" earned 27.2 million audience impressions on the radio in its first week, while "First Class" only managed to get 4.1 million radio airplay, less than a fourth of Styles' numbers.

Despite the neck-to-neck battle for a bigger debut, the two tracks managed to secure a back-to-back debut this year.

"As It Was" was the first track to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts this 2022, followed by Jack Harlow's "First Class," as all the previous takers of the No. 1 spot were leftovers of 2021.

This is Jack Harlow's first No. 1 hit as a solo artist on the Billboard Hot 100; he was only a featured artist on his and Lil Nas X's GRAMMY-nominated song "Industry Baby."

Harlow's and Styles' latest singles take on the top two spots, respectively.

Trailing on the third and fourth spot is Glass Animals' "Heat Waves," and Latto's "Big Energy," which were both pushed a spot down because of "First Class."

Imagine Dragons and JID's "Enemy" continue to hold the fifth spot while Justin Bieber and The Kid LAROI's "Stay" remains sixth.

Kodak Black's "Super Gremlin" is in the Top 7, Doja Cat's "Woman" is a Top 8, Justin Bieber's solo "Ghost holds the Top 9, while Lil Nas X's "That's What I Want," a current TikTok trend, closes the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10.
