The Weeknd has become the highest-paid Coachella headliner in history.
Kanye West dropped out of his alleged performance, for which he was allegedly paid $8.5 million. The Weeknd, on the other hand, now has the money.
Though Ye has yet to explain why he dropped out of the schedule, he threatened to pull out of the festival in February unless fellow headliner Billie Eilish apologized to Travis Scott for a joke that the award-winning rapper misinterpreted as a dig.
On Sunday, the "Starboy" hitmaker even paid tribute to the "Donda" rapper, playing his line from their single "Hurricane."
The Weeknd also performed "Party Monster," "Earned It," "Privilege," "Or Nah," "Save Your Tears," "Heartless," and "Out of Time" throughout his performance.
"It took a long time, but we're here here - we made it," he said, referring to his late arrival to the roster, stating, "Coachella! I'm always available to you. "Don't worry, I've got your back."
