Tyga announced the release date for his next studio album, The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty. He announced the November 18 date for his LP via Twitter Wednesday night.
Tyga has put out multiple tracks in anticipation of The Gold Album, including "We Don't Die," "Wait For a Minute" featuring Justin Bieber, and "Hookah" featuring Young Thug." The Gold Album will be his third studio album release on Cash Money Records. According to Tyga in an interview, Kanye West will be the Executive Producer of the project. Tyga discussed his excitement about working with the iconic West in an interview, saying, "They're all these people I grew up on. To really be mentored by the greats, it just puts you in that running."
Tyga is also working on a compilation album with Chris Brown called Fan of a Fan 2.
As previously reported, Tyga made headlines after his controversial and sudden split from Wiz Khalifa's Under the Influence Tour. The tour is an annual one, and this year it features Ty Dolla $ign, Rich Homie Quan and others, provided there are no other cancellations.
Wiz made it clear in an interview that he thought Tyga dropping out was "a wack move." Tyga's excuse was that he was too busy working on his anticipated next album. At least now it does seem that Tyga's reason for cancelling his part in the tour was legitimate. The pressure is on for his newest album, as his last release Hotel California was not as successful as he would have hoped.
