One of Autograph's founding members, Randy Rand, passed away at 83 years old.

Randy Rand Cause of Death Mysterious

In the band's Twitter post, Autograph posted a black and white photo of the bassist alongside a hefty commemoration of his legacy and a small tribute.

"At the time of death, Randy was surrounded by his beautiful and infinite love, Regina Rand, and family. Although beyond devastated, we find some comfort and solace knowing the last couple of years have been some of his happiest as an artist and as a performer," the statement reads.

According to the statement, the 83-year-old bassist was a "consummate optimist" as he was excited to see the band's new direction, creativity, and renewed energy.

Randy Rand was among the band's three founding members who reunited in late 2013 after disbanding in 1989.

"You could feel his excitement- as it was quite palpable with his playing abilities, performances and the way he interacted with his beloved fans," the statement continues.

To date, Randy Rand's cause of death remains a mystery to the public. The family nor the band have not disclosed any information on how the bassist passed away.

Randy Rand Music Career

According to the Twitter statement that the band released hours ago, Randy arrived on the 70s Sunset Strip music scene and was already an accomplished musician and a seasoned studio artist before rising to fame as a founding member of Autograph.

Rand formed the glam metal band in Pasadena, California, in 1984 with Steve Plunkett, Keni Richard, Steve Lynch, and Steven Ishram.

The 6-piece band then released their debut album "Sign In Please," which was released in October of the same year. The album peaked at the No. 29 spot on the Billboard 200 Albums chart and lasted for 29 weeks.

The album birthed the band's greatest hit, "Turn Up The Radio," which also peaked at No. 29 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The band, which new members now lead, last released an album in 2017, "Get off Your Ass," after signing with EMP Label Group.

The project then peaked at No. 21 on the Billboard Classic Rock Sales Chart as its two singles made it to the Top 10 on the Hard Rock Media base Radio Chart.
