Britney Spears announced the loss of the "miracle baby" she was carrying. She also hinted the fact that she regretted announcing she was pregnant so early in the first place.
On Saturday, the 40-year-old celebrity announced the tragic news on Instagram.
"It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy," her joint statement with her fiance, Sam Asghari read. "This is a devastating time for any parent. Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along however we were overly excited to share the good news," she added.
She added that it is only how they feel for each other that is giving them strength today. They will continue to try and get pregnant once more, she said. She added that she's grateful for all support of the fans, but requested for some privacy at the moment, which is understandable.
In April, Spears announced her pregnancy on Instagram by posting a photo of a pink teacup and flowers alongside a lengthy text of how she discovered she was carrying a baby in her belly.
She shared that she dropped so much weight in preparation for her to Maui, just to gain it back," she stated. She was wondering what's wrong with her stomach, when Sam joked that she was "food pregnant." This prompted her to purchase a pregnancy test and take it, only to discover the "miracle."
She immediately announced to the fans that she would no longer be going out that much, because she does not want the paparazzi "getting their money shot" of her, which she was already so used of them doing to her. She added that she already was experiencing "perinatal depression," which was very horrible for her.
She added that women did not discuss it at the time... Some people felt it harmful for a pregnant woman to complain in such a manner... but today ladies discuss it daily. She also thanked God that she does not have to keep this suffering a strictly confidential secret. To get better, she added she would be doing a lot of yoga and spreading love.
Britney Spears was not about to become a first time mom though.
Sean, 16, and Jayden, 15, are the children of Spears and her ex-husband, Kevin Federline.
Spears has stated in the past that she would consider having further children. In a November Instagram post, the pop artist expressed her desire to welcome a daughter into her family.
