More than a month since Taylor Hawkins tragically and untimely passed away last March, doubts over his real cause of death have emerged - particularly on the toxicology report that was released days after.
The Foo Fighters' prolific drummer Taylor Hawkins passed away in Bogota, Colombia, a day before they were supposed to perform.
Taylor Hawkins Real Cause of Death Doubtful?
Hawkins' death was a shocker for the band and almost the entire music community. Tributes were laid out in honor of the drummer. The Foo Fighters have canceled the remaining commitments of the band for an indefinite time period.
Local media initially reported that an ambulance was called to the hotel after someone was experiencing "chest pains," later revealed to be Hawkins.
Despite resuscitation efforts, paramedics could not revive the drummer.
Days after, a toxicology report was released, indicating that Hawkins' body was found with 10 different substances in his body including marijuana, opioids, and antidepressants.
While many settled on this real reason for how the late Foo Fighters drummer died, his close friends cast some doubts on the findings. (via Rolling Stone)
"He always played sober as can be. That was a show day. So for somebody to say that he was doing drugs that day, that is just about the most false thing anybody could ever say about him," Hawkins' drum tech Chad "Yeti" Ward said.
Ward also said that a Foo Fighters member said that there was actually no cocaine found in Hawkins' room.
"I don't even know if I believe any of the toxicology reports coming out of that country in, all honesty because it happened so quickly. I don't even know if I believe any of the toxicology reports coming out of that country in, all honesty because it happened so quickly," Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron said.
In the same article, Cameron said that Hawkins opened up to Dave Grohl, Foo Fighters frontman, about his personal struggles.
"He had a heart-to-heart with Dave [Grohl, the band's frontman] and, yeah, he told me that he 'couldn't f***ing do it anymore' - those were his words," Cameron elaborated.
However, Rolling Stone says that Foo Fighters denied that Hawkins has said these statements.
