Doja Cat's next album might surpass the record that "Planet Her" has set, based solely on the new information that was revealed in her recent cover story at ELLE Magazine.
However, all of these hang in the balance as Doja Cat's recent health update says that she's taking a break from music soon.
Doja Cat New Album 2022: What Do We Know So Far
Doja's most recent album, "Planet Her," was by far her biggest album yet. Peaking at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, the songs on the album has taken over social media as it has dominated the video-sharing platform TikTok.
But while the album's debatable genre leans more towards Pop rather than R&B or Hip-hop, her new album was reported to be "predominantly rap."
In a cover story that ELLE Magazine has published, Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, more commonly known as Doja Cat, revealed some interesting updates on her upcoming fourth studio album.
Apparently, the album has "got a lot going on" but is "coming." Although, the "Get Into It (Yuh)" singer says that she has not yet started on the album because of all the rehearsal and touring.
"I have been getting songs and things sent to me... Oh f*ck, I wish I could tell people! There's some really cool stuff that I got sent from friends. They're all working on beats, and I'm giving them notes, and they know what I want, so I'm excited," she hinted.
ELLE described the album to be an "exciting entry" in this era of young female rappers - which they revealed to have Doja has already collaborated.
The new album might feature collaborations from City Girls, Saweetie, and Rico Nasty, among many others.
"There's an explosion of amazing female rap talent out there right now. It's so cool to see that, because we didn't have that when we were younger," she added.
Indeed, the upcoming album is exciting. However, this remains uncertain as Doja Cat has recently shocked the world with her announcement that she might be taking a break from music.
Doja Cat Tonsil Surgery Keeps Her From Touring with The Weeknd
In an explosive Instagram story last week, Doja Cat announced that she would be pulling out on the remaining festival commitments she had in the coming summer as she has to recover from the tonsil surgery she would be having later on.
This also meant that she would be stepping down on The Weeknd's upcoming "After Hours Til Dawn" 2022 Tour.
The pop star has posted a string of graphic tweets detailing how her tonsil got badly affected during the Billboard Music Awards 2022. At the same time, she also subtly admitted to suffering from nicotine addiction as she tried to avoid vaping.
More information about Doja Cat's next album might arrive in the coming weeks.
