During a performance, it's very unpredictable what can happen next as technical difficulties may strike anytime within a band's set. Polyphia is not an exception, as the band recently suffered from a mishap, but drummer Clay Aeschliman handled it in the most professional way.

According to Loudwire, the group performed at the 2022 So What Festival at the Choctaw Stadium in Arlington, Texas, last Saturday.

During their set, the drummer experienced a technical difficulty as his in-ear monitors started to have problems.

Thankfully, they came up with an immediate solution, making him perform his best throughout the show.

As seen in a TikTok video uploaded by Belmont's Jason Tyler, Clay noticed an issue with his earpiece at the beginning of their set.

Tyler described the experience as "a musician's nightmare."

He took off his monitors, saying, "I can't hear s***." His drum tech did the most innovative way for him to keep track of what was happening with the instrumentals.

The drummer uses a metronome for his beats to be consistent, so the drum tech became a human metronome by tapping on the drummer's leg to simulate the beat.

"So for the rest of the 30-minute set, their drum tech taps his leg so he can feel the metronome," the text reads in the video.

He later used a drumstick on his leg for more pressure.

"This guy saved the show," Tyler concluded the clip.

Even though fans didn't notice the mishap, the two were able to finish the set without the help of in-ear monitors.

Hopefully, Polyphia will redeem themselves from the whole technical fiasco on their tour as they're set to perform with Unprocessed and Death Tour, which will start at the House of Blues in Houston, Texas, on July 28.

The band will then visit other cities like New Orleans, Atlanta, Charlotte, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Boston, New York, New Haven, Montreal, Toronto, Detroit, Chicago, Minneapolis, and many more.

Their last show will be at the Come and Take It Live in Austin, Texas, on September 3.

More information about ticket prices and availability is accessible through their official website.

The band is set to release their new album anytime this year. They recently dropped a new song titled "Playing God," infused with Spanish beats by adding flamenco music.
