On May 30, Lil Xan was supposedly scheduled to depart on the Born Dead Tour, but he backed out, leaving the opening artists Dropout Kings, VVIZARD KING, Rosh Dawg, and Saving Vice hanging, stuck and of course, very angry in Florida.
The XANARCHY rapper addressed his conspicuous absence in an Instagram post on Tuesday (May 31), accusing the Dropout Kings of "taking advantage" of him by neglecting to provide him with adequate travel accommodations for the 17-date tour. However, according to the Dropout Kings, Lil Xan is fooling his 4.9 million Instagram followers.
In actuality, they claim that Lil Xan just did not attend the event. They were already the ones being abandoned; they no longer can take being blamed.
"The narrative Lil Xan is spinning simply isn't true," Dropout Kings tell DX. They explained that Lil Xan actually dropped off the tour the very lat minute and then turn around and pin the blame on them instead of being responsible and explaining why.
They added that they are confused as to why Lil Xan would even bring their management into the whole ordeal when they do not share management. It's outright impossible for the managers of Dropout Kings to "take advantage" of Lil Xan, when they do not represent him.
They also mocked Lil Xan's feeble accusation that Dropout Kings did not handle his travel accommodations. The support band such things do not happen. Supporting acts are not supposed to be the ones to handle the accommodations for the headlining act.
Even though they were not the front acts, Dropout Kings said they spent a lot of money and time to prepare well for the tour, so for them to be accused for the headlining act's decision is just "wild."
Dropout Kings cannot believe that just a week before the tour, Lil Xan even told them how excited he was to meet them. In their IG, they said they no longer care about Lil Xan, calling him a "total piece of s***."
Meanwhile, Lil Xan is convinced that he is not to blame for the failed tour. In a subsequent Instagram post, he elaborated on his argument and maintained that they were only exploiting his name to promote the tour. He added that he has always been used by others.
The posts have been deleted now but they already went viral beforehand.
"Dam man I can never get a break," he wrote. "It's always a L for Xan when I say this had nothing to do with bad ticket sales, I was even surprised how good they were selling for only having one album out ever but everyone doesn't know how fucked of a deal it was for me? They were tryna use my name to increase their agency's artist career."
"I've been taken advantage of before and learned from my mistakes. Like if this was my tour or had more control of it wouldn't you think I'd have my brother @stevecannon on it like every other tour I've done? C'mon man."
