Phoebe Bridgers has recently pledged a portion of the proceeds of her North American tour to an abortion charity after revealing recently that she had one last year.
On the road for her "Phoebe Bridgers Reunion Tour," the "Motion Sickness" singer stopped by at the RBC Echo Beach Amphitheatre for her Toronto, Canada concert.
While the highly-awaited concert in the area did not face any major weather disturbances (contrary to Halsey's), Bridger's performance was interrupted multiple times because of unforeseen events.
Phoebe Bridgers Toronto Concert Interrupted Multiple Times
Phoebe Bridgers' first out of two performances in Canada was met with accidents and injuries as her Toronto concert was halted many times.
NME reported that the concert was allegedly paused five times after fans suffered from dehydration and exhaustion.
CTV News Toronto confirmed the news, noting that they were present at the event and transported two concertgoers to a local hospital. Per the paramedics, the two attendees sustained minor injuries, suggesting that they expected that others might even fall unconscious.
Some fans even claimed to be pushed, shoved and stomped on while entering the venue. Across the fans' statements online, there seemed to be a stampede that happened at the venue.
"I've never been to a show where so many people passed out or needed medical attention. A lot of people near the front had camped out, in the rain, for 12+ hours to get barricade so some of the medic calls could've been from feeling faint because of dehydration or not eating enough before the show," Erin Laidely, a fan attested.
Some fans have also stormed to Twitter, calling the attention of the 27-year-old singer, expressing their disappointment with the "horrible" concert experience.
"I'm not sure I've seen a band stop playing because of a medical event in the crowd once, much less five times.I saw that a lot of people camped out for hours ahead of time, might've forgotten to eat or drink enough," Laidely continued.
On the other hand, Live Nation Canada confirmed that the concert was indeed "proactively paused a few times." This is to give way for medical staff to assist fans who were experiencing dehydration.
"Safety is always our top priority and we worked in close collaboration with medical authorities throughout the evening," the touring company said in a statement.
Phoebe Bridgers has remained mum on the situation.
